Recent work:

Martin has recently wrapped filming on a number of projects. He has appeared as the Highlander, Beathan in episode 5, Season 1, of 'Outlander', from the American Network Starz on the Sony channel.

Scottish independant production company Maclachlan 84 Productions' new Vampire series 'Dark Haven', is now in post-production - Martin plays Detective Grayson in the pilot episode.

Earlier this year, Martin provided the English language narrative voice over for the Japanese animation film 'Geser - The Child of Light'.

The Japanese feature film

'Thermae Romae II' opened to great reviews and very healthy box-office receipts. Martin played the Bandit, San Zoku in this Japanese language film.

While resident in Japan he played

the lead character in 2 short films:

'Three Days in Kamakura', by Alec McAulay;

'Bridge', by Gisli Snaer.

He also played the father of the murdered

English Teacher in BBC Radio 4's

Play for Today 'A Tokyo Murder'.

On stage in Tokyo Martin played the title role in

Shakespeare's 'Richard III',

and also played Polonius in 'Hamlet'.

He has taught a series of workshops for

professional actors in Tokyo titled

'Acting for the Camera'.

Martin directed 2 short films in Japan:

'Henry & Hiroko', written by Alec McAulay;

and his 2nd, 'Opposites Attract',

which he wrote himself, has now finished it's run on the film festival circuit, garnering 4 screenings at festivals around the world.

His 3rd short film 'Land of Scorpions', shot in Scotland, was entered into the My Rode Reel Short Film competition and became a 'featured entry', taking pride of place on the front page of their website. A 7 minute version of 'Land of Scorpions', has also entered the short film festival circuit.

Martin's 4th short film 'i am alison', is now in post-production and looking at a festival run from Spring 2020.

 

He is developing a feature length film, provisionaly titled 'Banzai Park', and is hoping to go into production on that

in the near future.
